Road Traffic Claims
Graham Coffey & Co have a specialist team of road traffic accident lawyers who deal with approximately 3,000 road traffic claims each year and have many years of combined experience.
The vast majority of cases that we take on are funded on a no win no fee basis. In other words, the insurer of the driver at fault for causing the accident will meet not only your claim for damages, but they will also be responsible for paying your legal costs.
Making Road Traffic Claims
At Graham Coffey & Co Solicitors we have a high success rate in winning road traffic cases we take on and are happy to make sure that the injured victim gets 100% of their compensation.
We make use of appropriate experts in the field of Road Traffic Law, including qualified motor engineers and medical experts and are familiar with tactics that can be adopted by some insurance companies and we have policies and systems in place to deal with this.
Most fault claims that we bring against responsible drivers are met by insurance companies, as there is a legal requirement for road going vehicles to have Road Traffic Act insurance.
Motor Insurers' Bureau
If you are hit by an uninsured driver then a government backed body, otherwise known as the Motor Insurers' Bureau, will be responsible for paying your claim. Currently there are in excess of 1 million uninsured motorists on our roads but thanks to the existence of the Motor Insurers' Bureau, victims of uninsured motorists can still recover compensation.
Recently Streamlined Process
The government recently introduced a streamlined road traffic accident claims process and there is now a requirement that the compensating insurer confirms their decision on liability, i.e. blame for the accident, within 15 working days of receiving the claim notification form.
We will ensure that your vehicle repairs are carried out as soon as possible and that any inconvenience is kept to a minimum. If you have to make use of a hire car because your own vehicle has been out of action following the accident, then Graham Coffey & Co's teams of lawyers will fight for the recovery of hire charges incurred from the compensating insurer.
Our Experience with Compensation
We routinely recover rewards for clients ranging from those who sustain minor whiplash-type injuries to the neck and back, right up to the severely injured victims of motorway or motorbike accidents.
Often severely injured clients are prevented from returning to work and they may find themselves being wheelchair-bound. They may become reliant on carers or family members for home help and day-to-day activities in the years that follow.
These cases will merit a significant award of damages to reflect both the severity of the injuries sustained and also for the future and ongoing needs of the injured party.
