Defective Product Claims
The makers of products are required to ensure that those products are safe for use before supplying them to the general public. Typically defective products can include drinks and other food items as well as clothing and cleaning materials.
The injured claimant has the option of bringing their claim against the shop or retailer that sold the product to them or alternatively a claim can be brought against the manufacturer or importer. The chances are that if you have sustained injury because of a defective product then other consumers may have had a similar experience.
In order to succeed with a defective product claim it is important to retain proof of purchase i.e. the shop receipt. This way the purchase of the item can be confirmed and the claim, in turn, can be directed against the correct party.
